Mentorship Program

One of the primary goals of Motivarti is to provide aspiring entertainment artists with the resources to help them achieve their full potential. In addition to lectures, classes, and workshops, we’re launching a unique and exclusive one-on-one mentorship program!

The Motivarti Mentorship Program was designed to connect industry professionals with aspiring artists.  The mentorship program is a unique and very selective program where the mentors hand-pick their mentees from a group of finalists based on an application consisting of a short Q&A, a portfolio, and resume. This ensures that the mentors will be working with someone in whom they’ve recognized key characteristics and potential, as well as a way that their professional knowledge can help you reach the next level.

We’re also pleased to be making the mentorship program available to students outside the Los Angeles area. Thanks to technology like Skype and iChat, students who would not otherwise have access to entertainment professionals can now have an opportunity to get one-on-one guidance.  However, please check individual mentor pages to see if they are participating in out-of-town mentorships.

For information on how to apply, click here.

Potential mentees will submit an application to a specific mentor consisting of a short Q&A, portfolio, and resume. These applications will then be reviewed by a Motivarti selection committee. The top 10 candidates applying for each mentor will notified they have been selected to move into the finalists round. These ten applications will then be given to that specific mentor for final selection.

The mentorship program will run for 10 weeks, and each mentee will be guaranteed a minimum of 10 hours of one-on-one mentoring time over the course of 10 weeks. (If the mentor chooses to have two or more mentees, they will provide each with individual one-on-one time.)  This allows for some flexibility in that you and your mentor can best decide how and when to allocate time. You can also determine your preferred method and frequency of communication. For example, you can opt to meet your mentee once a week for an hour, or every other week for two hours, or any other combination of approaches and communication methods.

After the mentor has chosen their mentee(s) and the mentee has provided the full tuition fee, Motivarti will send an email introducing you to each other. From there, it is up to you and your mentor to decide on the best communication style for both of you. Communication forms include phone calls, emails, in-person meetings, video calls, instant messages, etc.  And remember that you don’t have to stick with just one communication method—you can use a variety (phone calls or emails one week and in-person meeting another week, etc).

You can apply for as many mentors as you want  but each application requires a separate non-refundable application fee*.  If chosen for the mentorship program, you have 1 week to decide whether or not you wish to participate.  Mentees secure their place in the mentorship program only after they have completed their mentorship program fees of $595.  If you fail to do so or decline, we will offer your spot to the next person on the waiting list.

If you have questions or concerns, please refer to the attached Frequently Asked Questions page.

*Application fees may vary depending on payment method.  Details can be found on our applications page.
